Humpty Doo Barramundi

In a remote part of the Northern Territory majestic Adelaide River, halfway between Darwin and Kakadu, the spiritual home of the barramundi. The dedicated team at Humpty Doo Barramundi works around the clock to produce our fresh, saltwater barramundi.

We are a 100% Australian family owned and operated business sustainably growing producing Humpty Doo Barramundi  with the best practice harvest techniques to ensure our excellent quality fish are distributed Australia wide, every week, in the best condition.

Our Barramundi are grown within a saltwater wetland system where the water is cleaned using saltwater grasses and recirculated again and again. Bordered by lush mangroves and a pristine tidal river, the farm nestles into a tropical landscape that provides the perfect environment for growing saltwater barramundi. This award-winning system helps us manage the quality of our water and the eating quality of our fish.

Our farm is positioned on the site of the historic Humpty Doo Rice Project and signs of that heritage remain in the form of old pumping station, rice fields and channels.

Our distinctive silver barramundi is the result of our ideal growing environment, continuous research and working with our customers for more than 20 years. From the humble beginnings of a 300 kg annual harvest, the business has grown to become one of the largest producers of salt water barramundi in Australia.

Hand sorting has given way to a state-of-the-art fish sorting and packing facility with custom-designed chiller room. Our harvest techniques align with our quality assurance models to ensure our premium quality fish are distributed Australia wide, every week, in the best condition.

Raised in their natural environment, our succulent Barramundi exhibits a subtle flavour that lends itself well to a variety of cooking methods making it a popular family favourite that is easy to prepare at home.

From our place to yours. Enjoy.
